Have you always wanted to do the Blessing but couldn't wrap your head around running for 10 miles??? Welcome to the club! Anyone who runs 10 miles also had those doubts their first time. Understand - there's a first time for everything. We understand how daunting taking on the Blessing can be, and we also understand how rewarding and FUN it is! Join us for our third season training runners like you in our Blessing for Beginners training group! It will be your first time, and most likely, not your last!
Here's the format:
Weekly long run (Saturday 8:00am) gradually increases over the 8 week period and these runs happen on the Blessing route, so that by race day you will be familiar
Optional second run on Tuesdays at 6pm from Wakefield Running Company
Follow the weekly plan which gives you additional runs and strength workouts that you complete on your own
Each week we focus on a theme which will help you on race day (hydration, strength training, stretching, etc)

FAQ:
What if I live too far?
If you aren't within driving distance, you may follow the plan and complete the training independently. We are available to you by email or by a scheduled call to go over issues and questions as you progress through the training. Your giveaways will be set aside until race day when we will give them to you.
What if I get injured?
We will issue full refunds during the first 2 weeks.
Where are the runs?
Tuesdays: always from Wakefield Running Company, unless otherwise indicated
Saturdays: the kick off run leaves from Wakefield Running Company, however all other runs will be held from the Narragansett Pier Middle School
Do you ever cancel runs if it is raining?
It will take a cataclysmic weather event for us to cancel. Lightning would be a cause for cancellation. Otherwise we run, no matter how hard it is raining. We can promise you there will be no snow.
Am I too young/old/out of shape?
If you can run 3 miles, you are the perfect candidate!! Our teeam members have been 60+ years old, 12 years old (must have a parent if under 18), and everywhere in between!
How does the pricing work?
$140 if you sign up with a friend, $130 each for you and a friend, and $120 each if you get two or more friends to join with you. Payment is taken at the kickoff meeting or at the run no later than the second week.
